Court Lurie, originally from Chicago, resides in Austin via cities like Albuquerque and San Francisco to countries in Europe and the Middle East. Guided by intuition, she moves deliberately and experiences each new transition as an enfoldment of the sacred in her life. In her twenties, she’s actively worked to right injustices in environmental and social realms from anti-nuclear organizations to people with developmental disabilities. In her art she communicates her individualist ideology through a juxtaposition of text, images, photographs and color, carrying messages of reconciliation, hope, responsibility, spiritual exploration, and personal evolution.
This body of Jennifer Chenoweth’s work reengages her research into Roman architecture, into their architectural elevations’ mathematical proportions, axis, patterns and plans and at the same time relating these spherical clusters to human scale.” These 12 artworks in the exhibit are abstractions of real buildings from the Roman Empire, steel models for large scale sculptures, the paint and texture representing classical dome decoration. The line drawings on graph paper study the proportion of circles relating from one floor plan to another. The hemispheres and parts thereof, the diameter on the drawings, were cut and welded together by a machinist to be perfect while she herself used a plasma cutter to draw into the surface of the steel. Jennifer incorporates all approaches in her art using mixed media, from careful rendering in oil paint, to casting modular forms in concrete, to fabrication of the surfaces with industrial finishes.
A panelist for the City of Austin's Art in Public Places program, Jennifer holds a BFA in painting and sculpture from the Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA in painting from the University of Texas at Austin. While in her studio she makes commissioned private and public artwork. Additionally, Jennifer has taken an intensive language course in ancient Greek.

Emphasis grew more towards trusting the unfolding of paint on the surface. More attention was assigned to "how" she interacted with the materials, rather than to "why" they were placed where they were. Therefore, the imagery changed drastically from carefully planned and crafted reflections of inner dialogue, to free and open abstract pieces with infinite depth and detail. At 35, Court works in her studio at ARTPOST and spends time playing piano and drums, writing, and supporting those less fortunate than herself living close by.
